Rare small 19th century ship's pedestal desk.  Brass  6cm high gallery rail to the top with green leather inset.  Brass bullet catches to some drawers to secure at sea.  The kneehole width is 38cm.  There are copperplate handwritten inscriptions inside some of the drawers making reference to the writing desk of the Captain.  c1880
